I have been using the Safety Prime on the Ultimate Turret Press…video here.

Every now and again a primer would not feed properly and end up on the floor.

There must be a fix to be found on the good old interweb…and what do you know, I found this video.

So I thought let me share this fix for you here with some pictures to illustrate the process.

Now this only applies to newer versions of the Safety Prime.

1.

Remove the trigger assembly from the Safety Prime .

Press the marked part and slide the trigger assembly off. Careful of the springs.

2.

Remove the slider, held in place at the back by two extruding pins. Note the way it fits…small end on one side.

3.

Now boil a cup of water and grab a 1/4inch bolt or 6mm bolt. I used one of the bolts from the Lee Bench Plate. Force the slider on the bolt and place in boiling water for 5 minutes.

4.

After 5 minutes remove the slider and bolt and leave to cool. Do not remove the bolt from the slider.

5.

Note how the slider shape has changed.

6.

Reassemble by fitting the slider to the trigger and the trigger assembly to the Safety Prime. Once in place ensure that the pins are correct and have secured everything.

And see there…No more primers on the floor!
